A Masterful Blend of Mystery, Political Intrigue, and Dark Academia

The Will of the Many succeeds as both a reimagining of the academy fantasy and a meditation on power, complicity, and the systems that perpetuate injustice. Islington has crafted a world that feels lived-in and logical, where magic serves as metaphor without sacrificing narrative excitement.

Broken Rival by Tessa Bailey

Romance 0
A scientist's daughter stranded fifty years in the past is taken in by a Kansas pastor's family, loved by one son and loathed by the other. Bailey's first move away from comedy is a big, swoony, sometimes bloody time-travel romance whose rivalry is its engine and whose worldbuilding talks too much.

Victorious by V.E. Schwab

Fantasy 0
Victor Vale is powerless, running out of medicine and counting the hours, while a soft-spoken new director remakes EON from the inside. Schwab's Villains finale is a two-clock thriller that pays off three books of rivalry, with a slow present-day strand and a crowded last act.
